Rotary Club of Cochin Lords was chartered when, Rtn. Bill Boyd, Howick, Auckland, New Zealand, was Rotary International (RI) President and Rtn. Babu Joseph, the District Governor (DG) of Rotary District 3200, which was comprised of geographical areas Thirupur, Ooty, Coimbatore, Calicuit, Thrissur, Moovattupuzha and Ernakulam. The District 3200, had 149 clubs with 5228 members.

The Governor’s Special Representative, Rtn. Leelamma Thomas, appointed by DG Babu Joseph and the Charter President of the club, Rtn. K. V. Thomas formed the club with 31 members.

Rotary Club of Cochin Lords (RCCL) was inaugurated on 9th November and was chartered on 22nd November 2006.

Sponsorship

The club was sponsored by Rotary Club of Cochin Mid-Town. The inauguration of RCCL was held at Mermaid Hotel on 9th November at 7.30 pm by the past District Governor (PDG) Rtn. Venugopal C. Govind, in the presence of many well-known senior Rotarians of Cochin.
